The bridge is 45m long, has a carriageway width of 12.3m and including road surfacing weighs 630 tonnes.

The bridge is supported on a slew bearing incorporating an internal involute gear and sliding mechanical bearings at both ends. Twin hydraulic motors fitted with involute drive pinions rotate the bridge horizontally to permit the passage of canal traffic.
