Consultancy

Qualter Hall has an established background in diverse engineering projects developed over many years in the field of project engineering. We are ideally placed to provide a full consultancy service from project concept design to feasibility study, final design, detailed manufacturing/supply drawings and specifications and overall project management.

We are committed to only undertake projects we can successfully deliver.

The cost effectiveness of this facility is further enhanced by retaining Qualter Hall's services not just at the consultancy stage but throughout the complete contract. Our 'concept to commission' capability enables the most effective route through a project, eliminating unnecessary indirect costs and providing the best market prices for all stages of a project on a totally 'open book' basis.

Project Management

For projects world wide we employ professional engineers, designers and managers with specialist abilities in a wide range of technologies. We give the same level of commitment to every task we undertake, from small value stand-alone contracts to multi-million pound, multidisciplinary projects.

From contract award, all aspects of the project are categorised and sub-divided into a detailed schedule of cost codes to ensure every action throughout the life of the project is fully accountable, as it happens and at any time retrospectively. These activities and associated cost codes are reproduced on a detailed Programme of Works using Microsoft Project (or other software to suit client preferences), identifying the application of both direct and indirect resource and time scale.

Qualter Hall's view is that unless amended by the client, the Programme of Works is sacrosanct and therefore must be achieved.

An internal engineering and management tiering system allows us to select the most suitable individual to control a project. While we operate a fully integrated departmental support team policy, the appointed engineering manager has 'single point responsibility' for the success and client satisfaction of the project, at all times reporting to the business unit manager.

We are fully conversant with the requirements of Quality Standard BS EN ISO 9001, the Health & Safety at Work Act and Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) to operate in whatever capacity our client prefers.

Our internal procurement, costing and finance systems are fully computerised and our engineering systems use the latest release of Auto-Cad and Microsoft Office together with customised design packages.

Mechanical Engineering

Our team of engineers have vast experience from a multitude of backgrounds, well versed in complex mechanical system design. From bridge operating machinery to coal feed systems and specialist winching and hoisting applications, Qualter Hall have the capacity to offer a solution.

Controls Engineering

Qualter Hall's Controls Division plays a critical role in our project engineering ability to provide a total turnkey solution. Our in-house capabilities include HV and LV Electrical Engineering, PLCs SCADA systems, LAN and WAN communications systems, systems audit, consultancy, hardware and software design, testing, installation and commissioning.

Fluid Power

Within our Controls Division is a team of engineers specialising in the design, supply, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic operating and control systems. All sizes and complexities of Fluid Power systems can be undertaken as part of a totally integrated turnkey project.

Site Services

Qualter Hall's Site Services Department provides a complete site installation, supervision, after sales service and maintenance facility.

We use competent and cost effective sub-contract erection and installation services, at all times vendor assessed, in many cases companies of long standing with Qualter Hall and in every case supervised by a Qualter Hall Site Engineer/Manager. Our site staff are experienced in controlling multi-million pound, multidiscipline and multi-faceted site operations with internal support from specialist engineers for the installation and commissioning of controls and fluid power systems.

Maintenance and service contracts for mechanical, controls and fluid power systems, from pre-scheduled site visits to 24 hour a day emergency callout, are available as required.
